TERMS & CONDITIONS
By registering for the SoCLA 2026 National Conference, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
SoCLA reserves the right to amend these terms at any time, with notice provided via publication on this page.
1. Privacy & Personal Information
SoCLA collects personal information to provide services to members and non-members, including administering the SoCLA National Conference and related events.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with SoCLA’s Privacy Policy, available at
Privacy Policy | Society of Construction Law Australia.
2. Delegate Information & Electronic Access
Delegate details (including name, organisation and role) will be accessible to other registered delegates and conference sponsors via the SoCLA Conference App to facilitate networking and engagement.
All conference-related information will be provided electronically via email or through the 2026 SoCLA National Conference App.
Instructions for accessing the App will be provided closer to the event. Access is limited to registered participants and sponsors.
3. Photography & Media
Photography and videography may occur during the Conference and related events. These images and recordings may be used by SoCLA for promotional, marketing, and archival purposes, including on websites, social media, and publications.
By attending the Conference, you consent to being photographed or recorded. If you do not wish to appear in images or recordings,
please contact events@scl.org.au prior to the event.
4. Dress Code
Conference Events (excluding Gala Dinner): Smart Casual
Gala Dinner:
Ladies: Cocktail Dress
Gentlemen: Lounge Suit
5. Registration & Event Cancellation Policy
This policy applies to conference registration and related event bookings. A separate policy applies to hotel accommodation.
- Cancellations received on or before Sunday, 5 April 2026: Refund less 50% of the registration fee.
- Cancellations received on or after Monday, 6 April 2026: No refund.
- Conference registration substitutions may be made for eligible participants up to Monday, 4 May 2026. A $30 administration fee may apply.
- Hotel accommodation changes or substitutions must be arranged directly with the Hilton Hotel and are subject to their policies.
6. Event Changes & Force Majeure
SoCLA reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or convert the Conference or any related event to a virtual format for any reason.
No refund will be payable where cancellation occurs due to circumstances beyond SoCLA’s control, including:
- Natural disasters (fire, flood, earthquake, storm)
- Pandemics or epidemics
- Government restrictions or regulations
- Civil unrest, strikes, or labour disputes
- Acts of terrorism or war
- Failure of essential service providers
- Power outages or technology failures affecting virtual delivery
Delegates are strongly encouraged to obtain appropriate travel insurance.
7. Hotel Accommodation Terms
- Hotel cancellations must be made at least 30 days prior to arrival (by Sunday, 5 April 2026).
- After this date, 100% of the stay will be charged.
- Reductions in room nights after the cut-off date will be charged at 100% of the full stay.
- No-shows will incur a charge equal to 100% of the booked stay.
- The displayed price includes a small administrative fee.
- All accommodation requests and upgrades are subject to Hilton Hotel discretion.
8. Payment Terms
- Registration is confirmed upon receipt of full payment.
- Payment must be made via credit card at the time of booking unless otherwise arranged.
- SoCLA reserves the right to cancel unpaid registrations.
- Incorrect registration selections may result in cancellation or invoicing for the applicable fee difference.
9. Code of Conduct & Compliance
All attendees must comply with SoCLA’s Code of Conduct and Membership Policies, including expected standards of behaviour.

10. Liability Disclaimer
SoCLA accepts no liability for any loss, injury, or damage sustained during the Conference or related events.
Attendance is at the participant’s own risk.
11. Accessibility & Special Assistance
Accessibility requirements should be advised at the time of booking and no later than 14 days prior to the event to allow arrangements to be made.
12. Intellectual Property
Conference materials are provided for personal use only and may not be reproduced or distributed without prior written consent.
Speakers are subject to separate speaker terms and conditions.
13. Conference App
The Conference will be paperless, with essential information provided via the SoCLA Conference App.
The App facilitates access to speakers, sponsors, and delegate networking.
14. Dietary Requirements
Dietary requirements should be advised at the time of booking. Requests received within 14 days of the Conference may not be accommodated.
Delegates should also notify hospitality staff at event venues.
